LOBUCHE  PEAK  DESCENDENCE

Trekking in Nepal is best done in the fall (September–November) and spring (March–May), when the rainy season is avoided.  After Island Peak, Lobuche Peak is the second most popular peak in the Khumbu Region for climbers. It also ascends to Gorakshep (5180 meters) via the well-trod Everest Base Camp Trek route.Take a picturesque flight to reach Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla, then begin your first hike to Namche Bazaar and Tengboche Monastery. These places are highly recognized for their intriguing histories, unique settings, and, in the case of Tengboche Monastries, breathtaking vistas.  We continue on the Everest Base Camp Trek and arrive at Kalapatthar at 5,550 meters, where we are treated to breathtaking views of Mount Everest and the surrounding high peaks. At Gorakshep (5,180 m), you spend the night exploring Everest Base Camp.

We choose a different way to Lobuche Peak than the usual trekking route.  High Camp is located at 5,400 meters above sea level, while Lobuche Base Camp is located in Lobuche Village itself.     Our climbing Sherpa crew will instruct and retrain climbers on the fundamental use of climbing equipment once they arrive at Lobuche Base Camp.  In order to escape the strong winds later in the day, we start our summit trek around 2:00 AM. We witness the captivating sunrise over the mountains on this route as well!  Once you've soaked in this magnificent sight, hike to Pheriche by descending to Lobuche Base Camp.  You retrace your trekking route from Lobuche to Lukla, where you catch a flight to Kathmandu.A wonderful journey across the Himalayas that offers one-of-a-kind vistas of the neighboring peaks and valleys, culminating in breathtaking views of massive peaks like Mount Everest, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Makalu.  Savor the sensation of feeling small in comparison to the many surrounding peaks.

Trekkers must be in good physical shape and ideally have experience climbing; if not, they should start preparing before setting out on this amazing adventure. All parts of this climb, including how to use ice axes, crampons, and rope procedures, will be covered in instruction.Alpine Excursion Treks and Expedition collaborates with Dingboche and Khumjung-based native Sherpas.  With their extensive experience, our Sherpas crew is well-versed on Lobuche Peak. Depending on the experience of the climbers, we assign one climbing guide for every two to four climbers to ensure their safety.

The ideal months to climb Lobuche Peak are April and May, then October and November.

GOOD TO KNOW

Insurance,

It is required of you to have emergency evacuation insurance or smart travel insurance that can pay for high altitude rescues in case they become essential. Having cancellation insurance is also a good idea in case your trip is canceled for an uncontrollable reason.

Fitness & Experiences,

We advise engaging in physical activities such as running, swimming, and sports prior to the trek, along with minor peak climbs using the equipment you'll need, to ensure your safety and success. Try getting some technical rock and mountaineering experience first, if at all possible. Learn how to use crampons, jammers, ascenders, and knots for rope climbing. We shall discuss this before you try to climb  Labuche peak and Mount Ama Dablam.

Food

It is advisable to eat more when at a high elevation. You should pack some nutritious snacks, including chocolate bars and dry foods, in case you feel peckish. On the other hand, our expedition cook will prepare a nutritious meal for you at base camp. Our chef will make every effort to meet your particular dietary demands if you have any.

Accommodation,

You will stay in three-star premium hotels in Kathmandu, while on the trek, lodging options include lodges, guest houses, and tents. In stark contrast to the other lodging options described here, camp accommodations at Base are tents. Every type of lodging is based on a twin share. The lodging options along the trek are basic and pale in comparison to

Kathmandu's opulent hotels.

Emergency Rescue

We first advise going back to a lower altitude to relax in case of any high hypoxia concerns. In more critical cases, we can arrange for a land transport or helicopter rescue.

Weather Forecast

We suggest using Mateo Swiss or other Austrian resources to forecast the weather during the climb. Before undertaking the summit ascent, we will provide you with the most recent forecasts via SMS, email, or phone call.

Day 05Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft ) This is the day set aside for 'acclimatization' on the trek. Health professionals always advise us to avoid sitting around on our rest days and to keep ourselves busy and moving. We have three options for the day: visiting Khunde, going on a walk to Thame, or just lounging in Namche Bazaar. The primary hub of the Everest (Khumbu) area is Namche Bazaar, which features a vibrant market every Friday and Saturday night along with government offices, ATMs, Internet cafés, stores, restaurants, and a bakery. We can better acclimate if we hike a few hundred vertical feet during the day. The Everest View Hotel, a luxurious hotel designed by the Japanese with breathtaking views of the world's highest mountains, is located just above the runway. The snow-capped summits of Kongde and Thamserku encircle the Khumjung valley, while the holy peak Khumbila is home to a well-known monastery that is home to a yeti scalp. The same location is home to Hillary School, which we also visit. We have lunch and explore Khumjung for a while before making our way back down to Namche Bazaar.

Day 06Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft) Duration: 5-6 We start our journey to Tengboche with breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and a close-up look at Thamserku after breakfast in Namche. There are a few ups and downs on our trip to Tengboche, but the Himalayas are breathtaking. We might be fortunate enough to see some native species while on the hike, such musk deer, pheasants, and possibly even a herd of Himalayan thylacines. After making a slow descent to Kayangjuma, the trail arrives at Sansa, a significant intersection leading to Gokyo Valley and Everest Base Camp. Subsequently, the path traverses pine woodlands and crosses over prayer flags hung from the Dudh Koshi River bridge. After that, we arrive in Phunki Thenga, a tiny community with a few teahouses and a small army station nearhours. Placed in the heart of the mountains. We take a leisurely lunch in Phunki Thenga, followed by a short but hard ascent through pine trees to Tengboche. Tengboche offers breathtaking views of Ama-Dablam, Nuptse, and Everest that will blow your mind. Tengboche takes great pride in being home to the largest Buddhist monastery in the Khumbu area. a trip to the monastery at about 3 p.m. to witness the monks perform a ceremony. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 07Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft) Duration 5-6 hours The gorgeous monastery at Tengboche is best viewed in the pure early light. Now is the ideal moment to grab the camera! We then resume our journey by using the upper trail, where we can enjoy the views and have a better look at this old monastery. Along the way, we pass past a number of small villages, Chortens, and Mani walls. We can enjoy the wonderful up-close views of Ama-Dablam during our lunch break. We can choose to travel east on the trail beneath Ama Dablam's towering north face, or we can head north to Pheriche in the afternoon. After this, the hike is quite straightforward until we reach the Imja Valley. As we get closer to the Lobuche River confluence, the valley progressively widens. After there, we make our way down to the river and start the day's final, tough ascent to Dingboche. When we arrive at Dingboche, we are greeted with a breathtaking panorama of fields surrounded by stone walls that shield the potatoes, barley, and buckwheat from grazing animals and chilly winds. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 08Acclimatization day at Dingboche and hike to Chukkung Valley (4730m) Duration: 4-5 hours. It seems sense to acclimate for an additional day before traveling to higher elevations. Hiking up to Chukkung Valley (4730m) and Island Peak (Imja Tes) is one way to accomplish this. You can trek to Nagkartshang Gompa above Dingboche (it takes two to three hours), or you can go to Pheriche for an afternoon lecture on altitude sickness. The trail to Chhukung begins in Dingboche and travels to Bibr (4570m). The route is flanked by magnificent Himalayan peaks, including Ama Dablam, Taboche, Nuptse, and Lhotse, as well as the massive flute-shaped Amphu Laptsa Pass. Chukkung, the most popular location for Island Peak climbers, boasts multiple lodges. Trekkers can ascend a grassy slope in the direction of Chukkung Ri (5550m) if they feel more acclimated.

Day 09Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4930) Duration: 5-6 hours After breakfast, any simple trek gets us to Dugla, from where we cross the Khumbu Glacier's steep moraine. After navigating the glazier, we proceed up Chupki Lhara through boulder-strewn slopes, passing a collection of stones with prayer flags as a tribute to American mountaineer Scott Fischer and Nepalese mountain guide Babu Chiri Sherpa, who both died while attempting to climb Everest ten times. The trail subsequently leads to the Khumbu Glacier moraine, where Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal, among other notable Himalayan peaks, rise in front of us. Spend the night at Lobuche. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 10Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170 m/16,961ft) and hike to Everest Base Camp (5364 m/17,594 ft) Duration: 6-7 hours. The Khumbu Glacier moraine is crossed by the Gorak Shep path after the pyramid marker. Soon after, we are able to see Mt. Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, and Neptse, as well as the summit of Everest's north ridge. We make the short ascent to Thangma Riju, which offers us a breathtaking 360-degree view of snow-capped mountains. Our ascent is hard, but it crosses the Changri Glacier at the top, giving us our first view of Kala Patthar, the grey-green mound beneath Mt. Pumori. Once again, snow-capped mountains encircle us as we approach Gorak Shep, including Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. Following a quick lunch break and some downtime, we hike towards Everest Base.
Cross the Gorak Shep Lake to camp. We shall honor those Everest climbers whose accent takes the dangerous path via the Khumbu Icefall after we arrive at Everest Base Camp. Magnificent peaks of Nuptse, Khumbuste, and Pumori are visible from Base Camp. Base Camp does not have a view of Everest. After that, we return to Gorak Shep for a well-earned sleep. The majority of hikers concur that Kala Patthar's sunset views are preferable to its sunrise views. The snow-capped mountains are strikingly beautiful as the sun sets. Rather than wait until tomorrow, some trekkers might decide to carry on with our guides and Sherpas and schedule a trip to Kala Patthar to see the breathtaking sunset vista. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 11Hike up to Kala Patthar (5545 m/18,192 ft) and trek to Lobuche (4940 m/16,207 ft) Duration: 6-7 hours. This is a unique day, the pinnacle of our adventure. We can enjoy the breathtaking views of the rising sun and Mount Everest from Kala Patthar if we have an early start in the morning. Before setting out on our walk, we must be ready for the darkness and the chilly (-10 to -14 C) weather. It is not unusual to have really cold winds. Numerous peaks, including Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse, and Everest, may be found in the east. Everest gradually exposes itself between Nuptse and the west shoulder crest. We can stop at a few amazing vistas along the way to Kala Patthar to gather our breath and take pictures. We climb for several hours until we reach Kala Patthar, where we have to scramble over a rocky outcrop.
near the prayer flags and cairns at the summit. We may enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayas by sitting on the Kala Patthar rocks once we reach the summit. We are rewarded with several chances to use our cameras and take pictures that will serve as a reminder of these massive mountains as we travel from one rock massif to another. After breakfast, we make our way back to Gorak Shep and eventually descend gradually to Lobuche for a well-earned night's sleep. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 12: Trek from Lobuche to Lobuche Base Camp (4865m/15,957 ft) Duration 3-4 hours. We set out on our journey from Lobuche to the Lobuche Base Camp today. The path to Lobuche Base Camp becomes rough and steeper after a while on a comparatively flatter surface. We're going to be hiking at a somewhat lower altitude today, so your body might find it easier. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse, Pokalde, Thamserku, Kantega, and other places as you proceed along the Lobuche Glacier. Once you arrive at the Lobuche Base Camp, relax for a little and start making the summit preparations. Following lunch, our guides will give instruction on peak climbing skills, how to use climbing equipment (ice axes, harness, zoomer, climbing boot, and ropes to ascend and descend), and peak climbing tactics. There is going to be instruction.
There will be instruction in knotting and gears, climbing technique, and fixing ropes. Gaining some climbing experience will undoubtedly improve your confidence and climbing abilities, improving your chances of reaching the summit and having a great day. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 13Trek from Lobuche Base Camp to Lobuche High Camp (5,600m/18,368 ft) Duration: 3-4 hours. We move from Lobuche Base Camp to Lobuche High Camp following breakfast. It takes roughly four hours to climb. The elevation of the High Camp is 5,600 meters/18,368 feet. We trek across a rocky moraine from Base Camp to get at High Camp. We set up our camp for the night when we get to High Camp, have lunch, and unwind. You will become more acclimated to this high altitude if you move around instead of sitting still. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 14Summit Lobuche Peak (6119m/20,070 ft) & back to Base Camp Duration: 7-10 hours. This is the day we had been looking forward to. To get to the summit, we have an early start to the day. More expansive views of the mountains may be found from Lobuche East than from other heights, such Island Peak. As you reach the top of Lobuche, you can enjoy breathtaking, expansive, and thrilling views of several neighboring peaks as well as Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, and Pumori. We take some pictures and rest at the top before making our way back down to Thukla. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 15Trek from Lobuche Base Camp to Pangobche (3930 m / 12900 ft) Duration: 5-6 hours. After breakfast, we start our day by leaving Lobuche Base Camp and traveling downhill before re-joining the Everest Base Camp trail at Lobuche. After lunch at Lobuche, we head back to Pheriche along the same route. Once more, we can enjoy the breathtaking vistas of Mt. Amadablam in the distance as we hike to Pheriche. We proceed to Pangboche after passing via Pheriche. You will also find additional peaks such as Pokalde, Thamserku, Kantega, and others to be quite impressive. We hike down a mountainside covered with layers of juniper and rhododendron plants. The hills will be a riot of pink and crimson rhododendron flowers if this hike takes place in the spring. Once you arrive in Pangboche, you will have the chance to tour the renowned Pangoche Monastery. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 16Trek from Pangboche to Namche Bazzar (3,440 m/11,280 ft) Duration: 5-6 hours. The trail first crosses the prayer-flag-adorned Dudh Koshi River bridge, then descends sharply through pine forests as it winds into the Dudh Koshi Gorge. Eventually, the route comes to Sansa, the main trail intersection in the area. Then, with every step we take, we can enjoy the raging grandeur of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nuptse. Following a lunch break, the trail winds around several bends and follows the mountainside until it reaches Namche Bazaar and Kyangjuma. While traveling through the forest, we should be alert for wildlife, such colorful pheasants, snow leopards, and mountain goats. Once we pass a Chorten (a Buddhist shrine), we arrive at Namche Bazaar's army camp. From here, we can turn around and
and take in the splendor of Tengboche, Lhotse, and the summit of Everest. Once we arrive at our lodge in Namche Bazaar, we can unwind with a hot shower and a restful night's sleep. Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 17Trek from Namche to Lukla (2840m) Duration: 7-8 hours. The trail starts with a sharp slope that makes us cautious on this rough terrain with every step. We traverse the swiftly flowing Dudh Koshi and its tributaries via multiple suspension bridges. After that, the terrain levels out and becomes easier. Your lungs are filled with clean mountain air, readying you for what's next. Even if we go the same path, we have a different viewpoint. We travel through pine and rhododendron forests, broad plains, and distant views of snow-capped peaks. We see the Sherpa people's dedication to their Buddhist culture and religion as we stroll through their villages, passing by prayer flags and stones. As we arrive at Lukla, we stretch our sore legs and think back on the previous a few weeks. At the end of our journey, everyone is back safely and smiling, and we are bursting with happiness and treasured memories! Included are breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 18Fly back to Kathmandu; flight Duration: 30 minutes. We fly from Lukla to Kathmandu early in the morning following our eighteen-day trek. Once you've reached Kathmandu, you can relax or go shopping. This is also an opportunity to visit locations you were unable to see when you first arrived in Kathmandu. Our guides will still help you with sightseeing and souvenir purchasing. We're having a goodbye meal and cultural dance performance this evening in a typical Nepali restaurant.

Day 19Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport. Today marks the conclusion of your journey, but the memories you make will last a lifetime! You will be driven to the airport by a representative from our organization around three hours before to your planned departure. You'll have plenty of time on the way home to organize your nearest excursion and take in the most breathtaking mountain views in Nepal.
