Trekking in Nepal

The country of Nepal was isolated for centuries, a forbidden earth seemingly a garden of Paradise. Hidden below the Himalaya behind rugged foothills and impenetrable ridges was a luxurious and plentiful wonderland. The rhythms of existence stayed intact; the daily rites, the promises of spiritual beliefs and the pace of existence rolled on alongside with imperceptible motion. Nowadays villages still echo to the sounds and chants of Hindu Brahmin priest or Buddhist monastic choruses. Festivals dictate the never ending rhythms of rural life. Farmers plough their tiny terraced fields as women keep a watchful eye on inquisitive children intent on new daily discoveries. At higher altitudes the people eke out a hardy living in tough conditions where even the vegetation struggles. The Nepalese people are endearing, brimming with humor, lively, flexible, vibrant and hungry for change, just like most people across the planet.

The architectural wonders of the Kathmandu Valley will be your first sight of the magnificent unfolding drama that is each trek in Nepal. The mystical spiritual existence of Nepal will baffle and intrigue even the most non-spiritual soul.

Visitors to the main trekking regions of Nepal can enjoy an astounding collection of geographical landscapes and different traditions. On the southern foothills of the Himalaya, the countryside is lush, verdant and productive. The soaring crags of the Himalayan giants hide a secret; holy and divine ponds that renew jaded spirits. In the heavenly elevated valleys the silence is broken by the rush of roaring rivers, the call of soaring eagles and the chant of famers behind their buffalo drawn ploughs.

From the sublime viewpoints alongside the trekkers’ trails, the most magical mountains in the earth are on display. Mt. Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhoste, Ama Dablam, Annapurna, Himanchuli, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dhaulagiri, Gauri Shanker soar in the distance and tower over you if you choose certain treks. Change is coming to the areas below these sublime tops so it is best to experience the rugged beauty of the farmlands and mountains as soon as possible.
