Renjo-La Pass via Phaplu Trek details

Renjola Pass via Phaplu Trek is one of the popular treks in the Everest region of Nepal, having a different gateway. It shows the abundant trekking packages in this region. The trek is highly suitable for both aspects: to enjoy the ethnic culture in the lower altitude part and to enjoy the Everest high pass trekking, which is ultimately connected to the Gokyo valley and Gokyo Ri.

The beginning part of this trek is uniquely diverse than the usual trail that begins from Lukla. You pass various ethnic communities that are rich in traditional lifestyle and hospitality. The rhododendron forest, delighting landscape and brilliant views of the valleys can be seen superb. Once it enters into the Sagarmatha National Park, the scenery becomes more versatile and the Himalayan views begin to appear closer. The Sherpa valleys of Namche Bazaar and Khumjung are superb. Taking the clockwise route via Thame, it crosses the 5360 meters Renjo La high pass, which is a wonderful viewpoint of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Makalu (8463m) Mt. Numbur (6958 m.) and various other mountains and peaks from different locations. The pass is not only challenging but also highly favorable to explore those Himalayan scenery from the closer distance. Gokyo valley is the final destination of this trek that lies beside the large blue lake. It is further rewarding with the witness of Mt. Cho Oyu, Makalu and the Ngozumba glacier from the Gokyo Ri. Phaplu to Renjola pass trek concludes in lukla after descending all the way via Namchebazaar.
