The spiritual Mount Kailash, with a height of 6,714m, stands as a diamond in the west. It is a pilgrimage destination of many different faiths of the world. Apart from its spiritual significance, this journey follows the footsteps of devoted pilgrims to the magical land of western Tibet. There you will experience a wilderness adventure viewing rare flora and wildlife. You will share this beauty with lonely nomads whose lifestyle is little changed over the centuries. This thrilling excursion across the large dry plain is bounded by the Himalaya in the south and the Trans-Himalaya in the north. Sandstone canyons and corroded valleys in the higher Sutlej is a result of heavy erosion in the past centuries, it looks like a treeless moonscape.  The Mount Kailash-Lhasa Trek wildlife is visible mainly after the monsoon period (July and August). Herds of feral ass, gazelle, Hodgson’s antelope, marmot and disparate species of geese can be seen alongside the route. You can sample the 1000 years of historic artifacts around Mt. Kailash can by doing a short hike to the Guge King Palace. There the 9th century ruins of the palace, and incredible surrounding temples are an unparalleled wonder.
